This is a special temporary page to
commemorate Wishstock '99 which was held on August 7th and 8th at The Trillo in Pittston,
and all of the hard work from the wonderful people who
organized this very worthwhile event. All proceeds from the event go directly to the
NEPA chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Charlie Newcomb Jr. and Christa Long,
along with all of the other people who volunteered to help organize and run the event,
should be congratulated for doing an excellent job! Business sponsors included King
Entertainment, The Weekender, 98.5 KRZ and WBRE TV 28. Twenty-seven great local
bands and national act OverMars donated performance time and entertained the crowd for two
solid days and nights of fantastic music! The crowds who attended certainly seemed
to appreciate the music as well as the true concept of the event which was helping to
grant wishes for seriously ill children in Northeast Pa. Once again, the wonderful
people of NEPA showed that they have no problem opening their hearts and wallets to help
those in need! Remember, you can help the
Make-A-Wish Foundation of NEPA grant wishes all year long by making a donation by calling
Make-A-Wish of NEPA at: 1-800-480-9474. Please continue to support this
extremely important charity all year round!
The twenty-eight bands that appeared
were Hoosier Daddy, Flaxy Morgan, Hoochie Mama, BadBoyz, Too Rude, House Arrest, UUU,
Stunning Young Men, Box-A-Krayons, Q-Ball, Take 5, Robert James Band, Old Friends, Night
Moves, Rockin' Rebels, Caliber, 7 Days, Jugdish, Giants of Science, Fester's Couch,
Strangers With Candy, Dorothy's Problem, Mourning Wood, Simon Sez, 3 Stewed Tomatoes and
OverMars. DJ Kenny did a great job keeping the crowd going between bands and sold
tons of benefit t-shirts and massage tickets. Below are some photos taken on Sunday,
the second day of the event. Our sincere apologies to the earlier bands that
appeared before the "BadBoyz Digi-Cam" showed up!
