About Steiner With a true passion for business, optics pioneer Karl Steiner established Steiner Optik GmbH in 1947. Despite the difficult economical post-war situation, this innovative company grew from a one-man factory to a more than 50-employee company within six years. Offering products from small cameras to binoculars and special lenses, Karl Steiner soon realized that the company's future would lie within the production of professional high-quality binoculars. This revolutionary idea set high standards within the optics industry, and Steiner Optik soon became the world-leading quality binocular manufacturer. In 1973, father Karl stepped down and his son Carl Steiner continued to run the family business. Putting his heart into further developing his father's innovative product ideas, Carl Steiner managed to strengthen the company's position, and Steiner Optik became the world's leading company in binocular production with products available in more than 45 countries.
Faithful to the traditions upon which his father founded the company, Carl Steiner held on to his commitments of unsurpassed quality, keeping the production location in Germany to create new jobs and career opportunities for his employees, providing expert training of his staff, and making a constant investment in research and development. Today, Steiner manufactures binoculars for the military, marine, hunting, outdoors, birding, and leisure activities.

Good in the day, Okay at night Steiner 10x26 Safari Binocular Pros: Good 3D magnification, Clear vibrant colors in the day, Solidly built.
I get great images in the day from 30m to 1km away. Colors are very vibrant and images sharp.
Personally don't really have an issue with shaky images - I steady both elbows somewhere and while holding the binos, press a part of both hands to my face/forehead to minimise shake. I find that works well. It would have been nicer if the eye cups were bigger as the current ones don't do... more info
Nice set of binoculars Purchased these to take on a trip to Alaska. They are light weight and were just what we needed. Seems a good buy and quality item.
Disappointing Maybe it's just my particular pair, but I'm very disappointed with the focusing mechanism in these Steiner binoculars. The focusing knob turns very stiff & has a lot of "slop" to it, ie, when you turn the knob too far, & you start to rotate the knob back the other direction to get the precise focus, there is about 15 degrees of rotation before it actually does anything. Not very effective when trying to view fast moving objects or getting that first initial view of whatever you're looking at. I... more info
outstanding optics, great value The quality is outstanding, with superb image even in low light. I can easily read the numbers of license plates from 200 feet. Easy to focus and while it is very light it feels rock solid. But be warned that the eye cups are not very deep and so there is a tendency to hit the lens when one blinks. On the other hand, the Steiner specialty of eye cups shaped to block light from the sides work very well. The maginification is just right for detailed views and while there is some tendency for shake, that is... more info
